Foldforming and Corrugation on a Small Scale workshop

Foldforming is a technique for moving metal to form unique 3-dimensional sculptures using a hammer. Corrugation is a technique for adding ripples as a design element to projects. This workshop will introduce you fold-forming and corrugation on a small scale. These same techniques can be applied to larger pieces of metal, with a larger hammer, to create interesting lawn ornaments.

This workshop is suitable for beginners as well as more advanced metalsmiths. The workshop will involve a considerable amount of hammering. You will also learn how to use a torch to anneal metal, and be introduced to the use of a patina to oxidize the metal.

A $15 materials fee, paid to instructor at the end of the workshop, includes enough copper and supplies for ten or more projects. Additional metal and supplies will be available for purchase from the instructor. All necessary tools will be available for use in the workshop, although you might want to bring an optivisor.
